PARIS

I'm leaving for Paris in 8 hours!!!

Not that I'm excited.  Far from it.  I sit here, whilst turning my nose up at all the other people who have spent the day jumping around corners and scaring art faculty.  Because I would never do that.  I also would never arrange a full chorus of 'tomorrow, tomorrow' from Annie for certain professors who hate the song.

who am I kidding... yes I would.

See you when I get back!!!

kids again

My plan was to update this every few hours so Miriam could check when she got home and see what the kids did while she was gone.  Hahahahaha.  With 3 kids around, who has time for a computer?

Last night after watching Lady & the Tramp, Charlotte and I painted her toenails (light purple).  Victoria got very interested, came and inspected C's toenails, and then stuck her foot in my face.  So Victoria now has light purple toenails as well.  The kids were a bit whiny when they went to bed, b/c of no parents & being pretty tired.

This morning I woke up when Victoria did, around 8am.  Charlotte & Mathias were already watching morning cartoons.  We ate cereal, (fruit loops) drank milk and huddled under blankets.  The windows had been open all night and it was rather chilly.  After playing around all morning, we dressed, found shoes, and went to get doughnuts and chocolate milk.  We drove to the park, sat on the bench and enjoyed our spoils.  Then Charlotte decided that she had to use a bathroom- so we walked down the street to Liz's house and interuppted their morning routine for a few minutes.  My cat DOES NOT like the kids.  Or other dogs.

Came home, ate lunch, put Victoria down for a nap, played Star Wars Legos, matching games, played tag, ate icee treats & string cheese, broke a glass cup outside, fought a bit, ran races down the street, went searching for the baby birds we heard chirping, examined stink bugs on the front porch, talked to various aunts a few times, mom & dad called and talked, went out back to play war (or something like that, the parameters of the game were never very clear-) and then-- the aunts arrived!!!

That's where we are now.  Abby, Naomi, Becky, and their friend Olivia are now here for the weekend!  The kids are ecstatic.  Except that Victoria is a bit wary, she doesn't seem to remember them.

Look for another update later tonight.

This weekend Miriam and Jaime are going to Starkville with the comedy improv troupe for an improv competition (?) / exhibition thing.  Which means I've got the kids for a couple of days.  I took off work from Cups for the weekend, got off early from Belhaven today and have been watching them for about 3 1/2 hours so far.  We've already:  --run around out front

--thrown things around the living room

--turned music on the computer (yahoo music engine) up way too loud

--danced in the kitchen to said loud music

              --called mom and dad once

--called various aunts a few times

              --made mac n cheese

--watched Victoria rub mac n cheese in her hair while giggling hysterically

--and are now watching Lady and the Tramp.

I'm tired already.  How on earth does Miriam do this EVERY DAY???

***edit***

It's now 12:30 in the morning.  The kids went down to bed around 8pm.  They kept asking 'when are mom and dad going to be home?'  When I went back in to check on them, I found them curled up on the same bed, fast asleep under the same blanket.  awwww.

mmm... probably ought to update this thing.  After this post I won't write again until Christmas, if patterns hold true.

Life is wonderful at the moment.  Working two jobs is a bit tiring, but I love both of them.  Mathias, Charlotte and Victoria can make any day better just by greeting me when I walk in the door.  Patches is still a nutcase nervous wreck... don't think that will change anytime soon.  Miriam and Jaime's new baby will be a boy.

Abby moves back in just under 2 weeks!  She and I will room together, either in the belhaven neighborhood or somewhere just outside of Fondren, depending on the rates.  Look out world.  Links are dangerous in multiple quantities.

I'm sketching again, for the first time in years.  It's rather disheartening to see how much I've lost by not exercising my drawing muscles.  Oh well.  It's not an overnight process.  Patience and practice.
